It will come as no surprise to residents of northern Nevada to hear the weather is often windy and gusty in these parts. That wind can cause for, what I like to call, "shopping cart destruction."
My vehicle was recently hit by a stray shopping cart outside of Raley's in Carson City. It caused a descent-sized dent.
I ask of my fellow Nevadans to please place shopping carts in designated areas (cart collection stalls located in the parking lot or back inside the store).
Vehicles are an expensive necessity and it is saddening to see other's blatant disregard for another's hard-earned property. So please be mindful of how the wind can affect abandoned carts and do your share in cleaning up after yourselves.
